Q & A with Richard:

Q:  What attracted you to accounting and consulting?
While attending Santa Clara University, I briefly consid- ered a future in the legal world. After determining that being an attorney was not an appealing option for my life, I switched my major to accounting and instantly felt comfortable. I enjoy organization and structure in life and possess a strong passion for math and computers, so accounting was  a profession in which I was confident I could excel.

Working in this industry brings me a great sense of personal and professional satisfaction  because every thing  I love doing  seems to be a part of  being a CPA. It is a career that fits like a glove and continues to fuel my dedication to the success of this company.

Q:  What do you think the future holds for businesses in the Fresno area?
In order for this area to thrive we need to diversify our economic base. The products and services this city offers need to keep pace with those of other metropolitan areas. Relying too heavily on only a few core industries will prove ineffectual in the long term. What's needed is a proactive effort to attract new and emerging businesses to the area in order for Fresno to sustain success in the future.

Q:  Do you have any words of wisdom for up-and-coming accountants?
Love what you do and have a strong desire to always do your best. Stay current and work on being  able to transfer your  knowledge to others. Everything we do hinges on  communication - and above all, you must have fun!

"My first order of business is to ensure the satisfaction of our clients."

  Getting
      personal...

Q:  What keeps you up at night?
I am a perfectionist by nature, so it seems like I have always paid attention to the details in life, so each night I go through a mental checklist of my entire day to see how I can make things better.

Q:  What one word best describes you?
Passionate. I like to think that everything I set out to do is with a sense of passion. It leads to what I consider a heightened sense of living and is something I wish everyone experienced.

Q:  What is one of the main lessons you've learned in life?
To be the best I can be at everything I do. It's actually the way I live my life and it's a lesson I hope I never forget.

I have done my best to bring this attitude into every aspect of my life, especially as I continue to work on being the best husband and dad I can possibly be.
