Q & A with Brian:

Q:  What attracted you to accounting and consulting?

I was attracted to accounting and consulting from a young age when I discovered I was good with numbers.  My attraction to this field grew even stronger after I began working at a local credit union.  There I learned how to build strong relationships with my co-workers and clients and how to help clients manage their money through my experience and various products we offered.  After I graduated from California State University, Fresno I knew this was the profession for me.

Q:  Do you have any words of wisdome for up-and-coming accountants?

My words of wisom for up-and-coming accounts are to learn as much as you can about the various computer programs that are used in accounting.  Technology is a driving force in our industry and it is very important to stay ahead of the curve.

Q:  What makes working with Torosian & Walter different than other work experiences?

Q:  Describe your favorite vacation:

My favorite vacation is going to Lake Tahoe every summer with my family.  We have been going there every summer for nearly 10 years now and we seem to find something new to do every year.  Some of our favorite activities include boating, hiking, riding our bikes, floating down the Truckee River, golfing, or just laying out at the beach enjoying the beautiful scenery.  My family is very close and I mainly attribute this to our yearly vacations to Lake Tahoe.

Q:  What are your outside interests?

My outside interests include golfing, boating, snow skiing, and playing softball and soccer with my T&W co-workers.  I am kind of a sports nut so when I am not playing sports I like to watch them on television at home.  I also enjoy watching movies and traveling.

Q:  What was your first job?

My first job was refereeing soccer games on the weekends when I wasn't playing soccer.  It taught me to always be on time, how to make tough decisions, and how to mediate for people who are at odds.
