Q & A with Lauren:

Q:  What attracted you to accounting and consulting?

My parents knew I was an accountant from the get-go. I would always count the money in my mom’s wallet. Then, at my kindergarten placement interview, the teacher asked me how high I could count.  I responded with, “In ones, fives, tens or twenties?”

For me, the realization came during my first accounting course in college.  It made sense to me; I liked the logic and the balance.

Q:  Do you have any words of wisdom for up-and-coming accountants?

Be flexible…accounting is a very dynamic profession.  Be ready to communicate…you will spend much more time communicating about acc- ounting than actually doing accounting.
