Q & A with Nic:
Q: What attracted you to accounting and consulting?
Entering into college I knew I wanted to go into some aspect of business. After taking some of the courses and having an older brother with an accounting degree I knew obtaining an accounting degree would be most beneficial to me.
Q: Do you have any words of wisdom for up-and-coming accountants?
With there being minimal job opportunities, stay focused in school and get involved in accounting as much as possible, whether it be an internship or a business fraternity.
Q: What makes working with Torosian & Walter different than other work experiences?
With Torosian & Walter being the first firm I have worked for, I wasn't sure what to expect working here. After day one I knew I was getting an experience that a lot of other accountants wouldn't. They give you the opportunity to work in different areas to make you a well-rounded accountant and in my first tax season I was given the opportunity to work side-by-side with one of our partners. |

Getting
personal...
Q: Describe your favorite vacation...
I went backpacking through Europe for five weeks with a couple of my buddies. It was amazing learning the history and seeing how different the culture was throughout the different countries.
What are you outside interests?
I love playing sports and I have a great group of friends that I try to hang out with as much as possible. Music is another passion of mine so when I'm looking to relax I either take a seat on the piano or grab the guitar.
Q: What was your first job?
Starting at the age of 8 I would go to my uncle's for a couple of weeks to do farm work and help him at the dairy. Hard work is something that I was lucky enough to learn at a young age. But the best part was at that age you see kids playing with tractors, whereas my uncle would let me drive tractors by myself.
